Used to grip the trip rod without damaging its surface. Two accessory tools should be used: Padded Pliers, 248198, and Gauge, 15E796, to ensure proper clearance between the poppets and seat of the transfer valve. Special padded pliers used to grasp the trip rod (11) without damaging the plated surface. A damaged trip rod could cause erratic air motor operation. Mentioned in CAUTION section of step 7 in disassembly instructions. Two accessory tools are required for air motor and throat service: padded pliers 248198 and gauge 15E796 (included in repair kit 246919) to ensure gap is set correctly
