Install on the dispensing valve side of the pump to assist in relieving pressure in the pump, hose, and dispensing valve due to heat expansion This is a thermal relief kit. The manual notes that thermal relief kit selection may need to change from application to application depending on pump air operating pressure and fluid working pressures of system components. The lower relief pressure may ensure other (non-GRACO) in-line components do not fail due to over-pressurization. This is part of a family of pressure relief kits. For kit 248324 specifically, the installation follows steps 1-3, 7, 9, and 10 only (not the full 1-8 and 10 sequence). Installation involves applying thread sealant to nipple threads and using the nipple to thread the tee to the pump fluid outlet. The free end of hose routes into supply drum or tank.
