Powermatic
As a lumber in 1921 Leonard Smith recognized a need for a machine to plane his rough-cut lumber. With the need identified Smith went to work, and built his first planer on the family farm. When others in the industry seen the machine they quickly wanted their own; and with that Powermatic was born. From a shed to a 400,000 square foot facility Powermatic has grown into a premiere woodworking line. If woodworking is in your job description then you’ll be happy to know Powermatic offers a variety of useful tools from band saws and drill presses to complete CNC machines. Today, Powermatic continues to be a world-class leader of industrial woodworking machinery and has remained the gold standard since 1921.
