Simpson Strong-Tie HTHGQ2-SDS - Heavy 2-Ply Truss Girder Hanger-Sds
The HTHGQ is a high-load girder hanger designed to carry composite lumber up to 5-ply girder trusses. For high load capacities and easy installation compared to bolts, this heavy truss hanger uses Strong-Drive^® SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws.
Key Features
- Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws are included to help transfer the load between the plies of the supporting girder when they penetrate all plies
- Increased allowable loads available when wider vertical web is used

Installation
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes.
- Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws are supplied for all round and triangle holes.
- All multiple carried and carrying members must be fastened together to act as a single unit.
- The screw length should be equal to the assembly thickness of the supporting girder. For applications where the length of the supplied SDS screws does not match the thickness, appropriate-length SDS screws should be used instead.
- Girders must have adequate lateral bracing to prevent excessive displacement due to secondary torsional stresses (refer to ANSI/TPI 1-2014 Section 7.5.3.5).
