Simpson Strong-Tie THGQH4-SDS6 - Truss Girder Hanger w/ SDS Screws - Gray Painted
The THGQH is a heavy hanger designed for a girder truss or a structural composite lumber beam attached to a girder truss. A lower-cost alternative to bolted hangers, the THGQH uses Strong-Drive® SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws to provide high load capacities and easier installation. The THGQH offers minimum and maximum fastener quantities to accommodate varying design needs.
Key Features
- Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws are included to help transfer the load between the plies of the supporting girder when they penetrate all plies
- Increased allowable loads available when wider vertical web is used
- Various models may be skewed 45°
Material
Finish
- Simpson Strong-Tie gray paint
Installation
- Use all specified fasteners.
- Fill all round holes; additionally, fill triangle holes to obtain maximum values.
- Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws are supplied for all round and triangle holes.
- All multiple carried and carrying members must be fastened together to act as a single unit.
- The screw length should be equal to the assembly thickness of the supporting girder. For applications where the length of the supplied SDS screws does not match the thickness, appropriate-length SDS screws should be used instead.
- Girders must have adequate lateral bracing to prevent excessive displacement due to secondary torsional stresses (refer to ANSI/TPI 1-2014 Section 7.5.3.5).
Options
- For hem-fir or spruce-pine-fir members, multiply tabulated allowable loads for the skewed THGQH by 0.86. Connector must be installed centered on girder vertical webs.
