Instructions:
Place the DrainKey inside the drain. Hold the large hex nut with your hand and begin turning the threaded screw clockwise until it is snug in the drain. Grip the hex nut with a wrench or channel lock pliers while turning the threaded screw clockwise with another wrench — this will lock the three knurled "shoes" into the drain as well as locking the screw and nut together. It is very important that the hex nut, screw and the three knurled shoes are locked firmly inside the drain. Once the DrainKey is secure inside the drain, begin by only turning the hex nut counterclockwise until the drain breaks free. Note: if the tool slips or starts to unscrew itself in the drain it has not been tightened enough. Once the drain is removed, turn the screw counterclockwise with a wrench while holding the hex nut with a wrench to release the DrainKey.
